The last one....until next year! The dress code was "Bright and Beautiful" for the last Friday night BBQ of the season on 12th September 2025.

Before play began members enjoyed a tot of Whisky or a small glass of Prosecco as is

custom on the last night.

We had 36 bowlers playing triples and the winners were Bob Hapgood, Mick Gress and Lisa McKernon. It was also the last of the regular 4 week cycles of individual "best average score" which was won this time by Mary Bowley with 70 shots. Lisa and Craig ran the bar which did a roaring trade thank you.

700 hot dogs and 145 onions

The BBQ in the 2025 season has exceeded all previous years in popularity and support.

There has been a big turnout of players each week. Over the 12 weeks we have consumed 700 hotdogs, 145 onions, and paid out £410 in prize money. Half of the BBQ money goes back into club funds which this year totalled £1654.90. And there were bar profits as well.

Thank you

Thank you Derek, Margaret and Heather for your help with food preparation and to all bar

staff who did duty during the season. Thank you Bar Manager Richard for including Bowls & BBQ in the bar rota.

Just three minutes

I often thought that members waited for the email as the quickest response booking a place for the following week was 3 minutes after it was issued..... well done Sue! A special thanks to Marilyn for distributing the weekly email on time and as regular as clockwork.

Much appreciated

On behalf of all players Ellen presented George with a bottle of Irish whiskey and Heather

and Margaret with a bouquet of flowers each. Thank you this lovely gesture which is very

much appreciated by all of us.

That`s it from me have a safe and healthy winter see you next year.

George Murray
