From early in the morning of Tuesday 5th October club members began to arrive at the greens carrying loppers, secateurs, rakes, hoes, hedge cutters, ladders and brooms ready for the autumn maintenance day. More than two dozen members laboured for several hours inside and out.
There was clearing out, clearing up, cutting back, wiping down, scraping off, taking out, bringing in, chopping down, and pulling off. Weeds and creepers were removed, over-grown shrubs were trimmed, and moss and weeds scoured from paths and car park. The clubhouse was cleaned, cleared, and re-organised. The short mats were brought out of storage. What a great effort! It's now all ready for the winter programme.
